Canadian Demining Services Inc. provides remotely controlled robots to the international demining community. There are many different varieties of land mine being deployed worldwide. Types include: small anti-personnel mines designed to injure or maim, anti personnel mines designed to severely injure or kill, anti-truck mines, anti-tank mines and IED’s. Our robots are custom designed to remove or safely detonate most mine types.
Operators controlling the robots are positioned at a safe distance from the de-mining operations and are not exposed to a detonation if one occurs. The risk of the injury or death of an operator is therefore removed.
The robots are designed in a modular fashion and specialized implements for tackling each type of mine can be readily exchanged in the field.
The robots are based on commercial off the shelf technology (COTS) and are built on small ATV’s that have been upgraded with suitable remote control systems. Clients can choose between Radio Controlled (RC) controls, Wi-Fi controls, Satellite based controls or tethered systems using fiber optics or cable.
We custom design demining robots for each client according to requirements. Generic robots are also available. Attachments for the different mines are designed for each specific application. They can be interchanged according to need.
