Demining Focus:

We are focused on building solutions for Detection and Marking, Butterfly mines, Anti-personal mines and Anti-tank mines

Detection and Marking

Current systems use a person walking behind a mine detector. This can be dangerous for the person involved.

We have mounted four metal detectors on the front of a remote control unit to sweep roads and trails with a back-and-forth movement to interrogate the area in front and immediately beside the robot.

When a metal object is detected, it is marked with paint.

Scanned pathways are marked by painted lines on the ground.

 Butterfly Mines

‘Butterfly mines’ are widespread in conflict areas. They are designed to injure and many of their victims are civilians and children. They can be dropped from the air and flutter down to cover a random pattern.

The robot eliminates these mines by detonating them with a rolling barrel or flail. The operator can walk behind the robot or remain in a safe zone adjacent to the area being cleared.

The robot is shielded to prevent it being damaged and is fitted with cameras scanning the area of interest. While searching for mines the barrel or flail is raised. They are lowered to detonate the mine when it is detected.

Anti-Personnel Mines

Anti-Personnel Mines cause either death or severe injury. When a mine has been detected we have three attachments to deal with them.

Remote control rifle:

We have a mounting system with a remote control Pan Tilt (PT) unit that will go to the area near the mine and destroy it.

Vibration attachment:

Some mines are triggered by vibration. We have a simple vibrator that will trigger many of these from a distance.

Remote control manipulator arm:

A remote control manipulator arm with a digger and a torch and various attachments can be mounted on the unit according to the type of mine being removed.

Anti-Tank Mines

Anti tank mines are usually in close proximity to other mines. Some of them are "booby trapped" with anti-personnel mines.

We have remote control manipulators to remove them to a collection point or disposal site. Other attachments can deal with anti-personnel mines that are nearby.

Small explosive charges can also be placed on a mine remotely and the mine detonated in place.
